I am Jim Williams and I founded Whizzbang Historical Ltd with a simple but powerful mission: to bring history to life. Rejecting the traditional approach, I present Whizzbang Workshops & Tours in a style that is both vivid and immersive, but also laced with humour and lived experiences that make the stories unforgettable. Whether you are a teacher, a GCSE Student or simply interested in the battlefields of Europe, my Workshops and Tours are designed to be both engaging and entertaining, but always centred on the needs of history students, wherever they are on their educational journey.

Unrivalled Expertise

Whizzbang Historical is more than just Jim Williams and has recently been enhanced by the addition of Jemma Tappenden, a teacher with over 22 years in Education. She brings her incomparable expertise as both Head of History at a Quality Mark UCL Beacon School in Holocaust Education, and as an Assistant Principal Examiner for a large and well-known examination board. Jemma provides a deep insight into how exam questions are crafted, what they are designed to assess, and how students can best approach them for success. Her ability to demystify exam structure places Whizzbang at the forefront of historical workshop providers.

The pair first met when Jim was presenting battlefield history to students from Jemma’s school over a three day field trip. Impressed by both the depth of his personal knowledge and his engaging delivery, an idea was formed and Jemma joined forces with Jim bringing her expertise and experience to Whizzbang Historical.
